A Military Wedding. The marriage took place at 2.30 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon of Miss llena Dillon Bell (the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dillon Bell (Remuera, Auckland), to Mr. N. 11. Mackintosh, manager for New Zealand of the Sun Fire Office, who is at present in training at Featherston Camp prior to proceeding on active service. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pretty but simply made frock. of cream georgette, the skirt of which was short and flounced with cream lace, large black velvet and gold tissue hat, and she carried a bouquet of cream roses and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom word his khaki uniform. There were no maids in attendance. The bride's mother wore a coat and skirt of mole grey taffeta and small hat of black velvet. The ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. Chap-lain-Captain W. H. Roberts, of Featherston Camp (a friend of the bridegroom), took place at St. Paul's pro-Cilthedral, Mulgravo Street. A reception was held later in tho afternoon at the residence of the bride's uncle (Sir Francis Dillon Bell), in Hobson Street, Mrs. Rolleston and Mrs. Harold Johnston receiving the guests in the absence of Lady Bell in England. Amongst those present were: Mr. Ernest Bell, Mr. Justice and Mrs. Chapman, Mr. Martin Chapman (who proposed tho health of the bride and bridegroom), Mrs. Scobie Mackenzie, Mr. and Mrs. Alec. Mackenzie, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Betlume, Mrs. H. S. Izard (Wellington), and Miss A. Moss (Auckland). Afterwards Mr. and Mrs. Mackintosh left hy motor for Featherston, the latter wearing a coat-frock of soft white silk and brown hat wreathed with autumn leaves. Tho hrido was the recipient of many beautiful presents from various parts of tho Dominion.
Mrs. S. S. Williams, of Oriental Bay, is leaving for Sydney by tho Mocraki to visit her daughter.
Mrs. George Bloomfield, Mrs. Arthur Myers, Dr. Beattie, and Mr. L. J. Bagnall have been appointed delegates on behalf of the Auckland branch of the Phinket Society to the forthcoming conference of the society in Wellington next week.
Mrs. F. H. Care (Dunedin), Mrs. Stvenson (Wanganui), and Mrs'. Tkeomin (Dunedin) are arriving in Wellington on Saturday morning, and will stay at Mrs. Facer's, Hawkestono Street.
Mrs. Stratton Izard is leaving today for Nelson, where she will bo tho guest of Mrs. C. B. Pharazyn.

'i'lie St. John Ambulance Brigade and Red Cross Society aro very grateful to tho pupils ;of the undermentioned schools for the excellent parcels of work they have sent in. Tho work lias been done by both girls and boys, and in spine of the schools the boys are both knitting and sewing, willing to do anything to provide comforts for our wounded soldiers. The names of the schools are as follow:—Paraparaumu, Newtown, Petono West, Pirinoa, Rongomai, Puketoi, Koputaroa, Levin, Ponatahi, Mangaone, Whakataki,. Korrnandale, Mangapakelia, Taueru, Te Ore Ore, Kipororo, Parkvale, Kaituna, Makuri, Waikanae, Ralio Ruru (Pirinoa).
Parcels for Mesopotamia. A number of tho Citizens' Service Leaguo were busy packing parcels in the Town Hall on Tuesday and Wednesday. Sixty-one parcels were packed for tho Lady Liverpool Fund, and are ready for immediate dispatch for Mesopotamia for tho New Zealand members of the wireless staff, and 61 more parcels are also being forwarded by, the Citizens' Gift Fund to Mesopotamia.
More Helpers Wanted. Tho ladies who are organising the Surprise Bag Day for March 2 are appealing for helpers. If each lady would guaranteo to make even half-a-dozen bags, and Till them, the expense and labour involved would not amount to much. The bag itself is quite a secondary consideration, as ]ong as it is no smaller than C x 9, it can be made of any kind of material, and tho contents of each bag must be worth at least 3d. A number of schools have already begun work on the bags. Messrs. Munt and Cottrell have kindly offered to lend nino expresses, which will be specially decorated for the occasion, to carry the bags to and from the depot. All tho' proceeds will be in- aid of funds for our wounded soldiers in England. Ladies who intend to help are asked to communicate at onco with Mrs. J. R. Gibbons, and state how many bags they are prepared to make.
Mrs. Wilson Tackaberry (South Australia) and her two children, who have been staying in Masterton with' Mrs. Macboan Stewart, returned to Wellington yesterday.
Miss A.; Moss, who'has .been staying with relatives in Dunedin, is making a short stay in Wellington beforo returning to Auckland.
