AVc repulsed two ■ counter-attacks. We entered the lines last, night at three points in the neighbourhood of Bouchavesnes, T?ys, and Grandcourt. The eneiny made four uiisuccessl'ul counter-attacks on tho new front eastward of Beauconrfc. Our positions have been consolidated. Sir Douglas Haig reports: "Wo advanced our line in the neighbourhood of Grandcourt, whore one thousand yards of trench was occupied unopposed. Further prisoners were- takon eastward of *IWucourt. Our aircraft bombed one of tho enemy's aerodromes, end did considerable damage. Two British aeroplanes worn brought down, and two of the onoiny's were- brought down in a damaged condition."—Aus.N.Z.
