VON HINDENBURG CRITICISES AUSTRIA'S DEFENCES. Rome, January 28. Emperor Carl, the Archduke Eugene, Von Hindenburg, and General Ludendorff recently visited the _ Austro-Ital-ian front and held a council of war, at which Von Hindenburg said he considered the Austrian defences inadequate.
