Roberts, serving a life sentence for - fatally shooting a. girl at Christcbnrch six or seven years ago. escaped from a quarry in which sevoral prisoners were, at work, this afternoon. They ran towards Newmarket in full view of the nublic ns they ran down the railway lino. The warders found them hiding in the scrub several hundred yards down the line, and the two were recaptured without resistance.
