AN OFFICER ARRESTED
CHAEGED WITH FORGERY. Sydney, January 25. Lieut. Howell-Price was re-arrested on » charge of forgiup; and uttering two cheques tor £1000 each. —Press Association. [Lieut. D. Howoll-Price on Tuesday was remanded on a charge of knowingly claiming the pay of Lieut. Downes during November, 1915. The polico prosecutor stated that he understood accused was lieutenant-adjutant of the 9th Light Horse from April to July, 1915, and he was alleged to have submitted claims for pay for the whole units from tho tiino of demobilisation till the following November. He drew money which allegedly approximated to' £50,000. He left tho Defence Force in Soptember last medically nnfit. There was a suggestion that ho had not disposed of all tho money lie obtained.]
