A Wanganui Wedding. \ On Tuesday, December 26, .1816,. a quiet but pretty wedding - took placo at St. John's Chnrch, Wanganui, when Oorpl, James Simpson, of Trentham Camp, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Simpson, of Dnnedin, and Miss Winnifrcd Graham, eldest daughter of Mrs. J. Graham, of Wanganui, wore married.- Archdeacon Reeve officiated. The bride was given away 'by her brother-in-law, 'Mr. A. F. Cola, •of Hawora, arid was attended by her sister, Miss Ida Graham,' and her two little nieces, Misses Olive Cole and Olga Graham. Mr. J. Basil O'Keefe carried out the 'duties of best man, and!. Mr. G; Simpson was groomsman:. ... Concerts at Featherston Camp. On Friday last'a party from Masterton visited the camp and gave a concert in ihe Y.M.O.A. Soldiers' Clnb. The party was headed by Mr. Harry 'Hall, and comprised L.'Harris, H. Kummer,"arid Jones,' and Messrs. ■W. S. - Jagn,i G. Remington, T. Vaughan, and Elden Moore. hey and Mrs. I.uks—spent tho weekend at Featherston, and: treated! the soldiers to two concerts, the first on Sunday afternoon, when tho unfortunates in 'the Camp Hospital were entertained, and- the second on Monday night, when many men had to _ be turned. away owing to the Soldiers' Club heing unable to accommodate all w'tho wished to. attend. At the evening concert they were assisted hy Lce.CorpL Exton and Corpl. Holloway, at the piano. Sister Jean MiLure Ross. Gilmer, 22/282, of tho N.Z.A.N.S., is ill in hospital. The caso is serious, states the official report. Nurse _ Gilmer's next-of-kin. .-resides at Hamilton. Miss Rose Sheridan, of Wellington, left on a holiday trip to Gisborno by the Tarawera last evening. Sir Thomson, Ewing, Lady . Ewing, and Miss Ewing, of Australia, who have been staying at the Royal Oak, left last night for. the south.-'' They intend to tour through the Cold Lake district, and-will return to Wellington before leaving New Zealand." Ladies will have another opportunity this afternoon, at 8 o'clock, of attending one of the popular gas-cooking demonstrations by the Gas Company's instructress, Miss Una Carter. "Dinner and Cakes" will ho the subject. The demonstration will- bo given in the company's lecture room, Courtenay Place. •'
