'ALLEGED EMBEZZLEMENT. (Rec. January 23, 9.45 p.m.) Melbourne, January 23. David O'Donoghuo, charged with converting moneys to his own'use, was remanded oil live additional charges <if embezzling £2843, tlio funds of the Navy Department. The prosecutor stated that the total defalcations amounted to about £10,000. O'Donoghue's solicitor objected to tha statement that tho total defalcations were so much. O'Donoghuo had already refunded £1800, and hoped to refund practically the whole amount. —Press Association. [David O'Donoghuo was charged with the offence stated in the message after lengthy investigations into the defalcations of tho Navy Department.]
