"The Times" correspondent at Cologne, who recently toured a number of German cities, after referring to tho discontent caused by the food .stringency, states that it is known that Von, Hindenburg, who recently returned from a second visit to the West front, was profoundly impressed at the necessity that the politicians should secure peace. The whole of tho West front is a nightmare, while the Western army is in bad order owing to its failures. Every influence —social, political, and financial—is used to prevent tho return of soldiers to France, although..the authorities offer superior supplies of food, shorter intervals in the trenches, and amusements at Lillo. Ghent, and elsewhere. —"The Times."
