Some months ago, on a. short stretch of Gray's Inn Road, London, unshaded green were tried instead of shaded ■white lights'. The light "was very good to walk by, though ' the effect on the complexion was rattier ghastly. The idea was to take advantage of the joor carrying power of green light. A green light lias good illuminating power at a short distance, but it has very poor carrying power. As everyone who has been to sea knows,- the red port light of n vessel i.? seen long before the green starboard light. A. city might bo sufficiently lighted with green, light and yet bo invisible to a Zeppelin at the usual height. Ton won't keep a cold or sotp. throat above a day or two if you use "NAZOL."
