RECRUITING IN THE CITY

' AX IMPROVEMENT NOTED

The rate of voluntary recruiting in Group 5 (Wellington City and Suburbs) lias shown a substantial improvement since the holidays. During the first eighteen, days of January 134 fit recruits have been attested at tho Town (Hall Recruiting Office. Twelve men were attested yesterday.

The rate of recruiting in.Group 5 is shown in tho following table, covering the period sinco the , transfer of tho recruiting office to the Town Hall:— Fit.' Unfit. Total.
