Henry George, juii., was tho eldest son of the .well-known American writer and speaker on economics. In 1897, when his father, who was a candidate for the Mayoralty of Greater New York, died a few days before the election day, Mr. George, jun., took up the running, hub, of course, was defeated, though he ran well ahead of Theodore Koosevelt, who was also a candidate at the same election. Henry George, jun., did considerable writing and speaking in America and England. He publ'shed three books, a life of Henry Georgo, "The Monaco of Privilege," and "The Romance of John Bainbridge."
