SEPARATION ALLOWANCE
AN INCREASE SUGGESTED. 1 London, January 14. Tho AVorkers , National War Committee, representing the Labour Party and the chief trado unions, is urging the Government to increase the separation allowance W 2os. for a wife and ss. for each child, exclusive of the allotment from the soldier's pay, and pensions on a similar.scale, it is suggested that tho pensions for totallydisabled soldiers and sailors should be 375. 6d. and ss. for each child. The committee urges that wheat aad oats should be sown on lands previously devoted to the growing ."of barley for brewing .purposes, and demands that • private park lands be cultivated before recreation grounds are ploughed up.— Atig.-N.Z.
