RESTRICTING THE LIQUOR TRADE

FURTHER STATE CONTROL. (Rec. January 13, 7 p.m.) Landed, January 13. The "Daily Telegraph" states that it is becoming increasingly, probable that the Government will give early attention to tho liquor trade with a view to legislative action for restricting the quantity of grain to be used in manufacture, and ending the existing serious interferences with work in the shipping and engineering industries. The Government is considering farther control, and the Sfcato purchaso of tho liquor trade later as a solution is more likely.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
