-HANDLING WHEAT IN BULK Br Telegraph-Press Assooiation-Copyrisht Sydney, January 6. The Government is calling tenders for the erection of a system for handling wheat in bulk, with a terminal elevator having a, capacity of three million bushels at Sydney, one of eighty thousand bushels at Newcastle, and country elevators with a total capao ity of twelve million bushels. The estimated cost of the installation is £2,000,000. „ LAND SETTLEMENT. FOR REPATRIATED SOLDIERS. Melbourne, January 6. ■- The Premiers' Conference has resumed. It discussed the question of repatriation, and decided to draft a composite scheme of land settlement. SABOTAGE. STATE WHEAT DAMAGED. Sydney, January (i. 'Hie State wheat ■office continues to receive reports of attempts to burn or otherwise damage wheat stacks throughout the State. < QUEENSLAND FLOODS. FIFTY-ONE BODIES BURIED. Brisbane, January 6. The Minister for. Education and a polico inspector reached Clermont by irolley, and have telegraphed that fiftyone bodies have been buried. All massing persons except three have been accounted for. The floods have not abated. In other parts fatalities are occurring. HUCHENDEN ISpLATED. (Rec. January 7, 5.5 p.m.) Brisbane, -January 7. Huklicmlbii is isolated and a'large part of the northern section 'of the town is under water. The floods there and at Longrcach are records.
