SUMMER FLOWER SHOW
The annual sweet pea and carnation • show of the Wellington Rose and Car- I nation Club will be opened at the Town I Hall at 3 p.m. to-day. Visitors to the ! show will have an opportunity of in- ; specting the very latest varieties of these bcautiiul flowers. A striking fen-1 ture will'be a magnificent, display of! peas grown by Mr. G. C. Holder, of i'orirua. Tlio'exhibit will contain some; hundreds of blooms, and is said to surpass .anything yet shown' in 'this city. Mr. H. A. Fox.will exhibit.the very latest varieties of carnations.. " The ■ whole of the net proceeds will be hand-i ed to the Wounded Soldiers' Fund, so; visitors will not only be enabled to! spend a pleasant afternoon or evening among the flowers, but contribute towards a worthy cause. At 9 p.m. an auction sale of all the exhibition blooms; will bo held. •■ i
