TONNAGE DEFICIENCY
EFFORTS TO Tα SE THE POSITION. (Rec. January 3, 8.30 p.m.) London, January 3. In order to quicken the loading and unloading of vessels, and ease the tonnage deficiency, the Cabinet War Committee has authorised the Dock Authorities to increase the labour transport workers' battalions to ten thousand, and supplement the existing labonr supply where deficient. —Aus.-N.Z.
