SOCIAL AND PERSONAL
The wedding took place yesterday at the Synagogue of Miss Esther Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Davis, Wellington, and Mr. Louis Moss, of Wellington, late of U.S.A., who is well known in the Zionist movement. The Rev. H. Van Staveren officiated. The bride wore a gown of apricot satin draped with silver net, and carried a shower bouquet of white roses and blue streamers. The mother of the bride woro a navy chiffon taffeta costume,and navy hat trimmed with small pink rosebuds.' The chief bridesmaid, Miss Kate Davis, wore a saxe blue silk costume and cream net hat. Miss Ethel Davis woro a cream corded silk costume and cream tagel hat to match. The liny bridesmaid, Rota Morris (niece of the bride) a dainty cream lace frock over pale pink satin, and lace mob cap. The reception was held in Hie Concert Chamber, Town Hall, where a large number of friends gathered. Mr. and Mrs. Moss left for the South Island, the bride wearing a wedgwood bengaline costume, fawn cape, and small black French hat.
Mrs. Peter M'Laren, of Masterton, is visiting Wclliiigtqn, and is staying at the Hotel Cecil.
The Misses Clarice and Janie Petrie left on Friday on-a visit to Auckland and Rotorua.
Misses Elsy Trewiclt and Jessio Mason, of the Selinsky-Amadio concert company arc staying at the Grand Hotel.
Misses Nathan and Cornish, of Sydney, wlio. are leaving for England shortly aro among the guests at tho Grand Hotel.
Mrs. and Miss Brunton, of Sydney, are staying at the Grand Hotel.
Miss E. Robieson, of Masterton, is spending .the holidays with Mrs. Cummings, of Lyall Bay.
Mr. and Mrs. B. S. Chndwick have assumed possession of their new property. "Gurtenhilla," atßnaßoa, Dannevi'rke, purchased from Mr. Riddell.

After Inst Mass at the Sacred Hedrt Church, Hill Street, on Christmas Day, tho members of. the chorr presented Miss .Tansen, the chief lady soloist for several years past, with a farewell mark of esteem. Miss Jausen is leaving .the parish. ,
