DENTAL CAR FOR THE FRONT
CARE OF SOLDIERS' TEETH IN THE TRENCHES. The London public recently had an opportunity of viewing the first British military dental motor-car. The dental surgeon in charge, Lieut. E. Harriinan Tice, gave a "Daily Cilronicle" representative some interesting particulars. The car is tie gift of the Civil Service Federation, and of Civil Servants generally. It has been landed over by the Red Cross Society to the War Office. All the fittings are of the latest type, and have been installed with a special view to trench conditions, as the car is to operate close behind the firing, line. To make night work possible it is fitted with electric light, tha dynamo being placed side by Bide with the engine of the car. This dynamo also supplies the power for a beauti-fully-finished dental lathe and a ventilating fan. The staff consists of a dental surgeon, a dental mechanio, and the chauffeur. All simple dental operations can be performed in the car, including the administration of gas, and the soldier who has broken off a tooth can be supplied with a new one and *oo back again hi the trenches all within three to four hours. Men now havo either to go without attention or travel perliaps 20 miles to the base, and be altogether two days off duty. . '
