The death occurred at Hobart last week of Dr. B. J. Roberts, medical superintendent of tho Hobart Hospital, and brother of Miss Roberts, of Nelson. He was well-known in Nelson, haying been in practice there for some

years. Colonel Bengali was a. passenger' by the Mararoa for the south last evening. Lieut. Arthur P. Castle, reported killed in action in France, was the son of Mr. J. G. A. Castle, of Petane. He went io Wellington College from Petone School as a Queen's Scholar, and from Wellington College to Victoria University College with a Turnbull scholarship. Lieutenant Castle graduated M.A. with honours in 1913. After two years at the' Wellington Training College he was appointed a resident master at the pisborne High School, where he remained until he enlisted, as a private in the Fourth Reinforcements. He received his commission as a 2nd lieutenant, in the Second Battalion of tKh Rifle Brigade, and gained his full lieutenancy •More his. battalion; left Egynt for France. Lieutenant Castle was 2o years of age. .
