y > CITY IDEAS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE REMITS Tho Wellington Central .Chamber'of commerce met yesterday. : Mr. C. M. juke presided.. ... It was decided to remit to the anlual conference of Chambers'of Comlierce tho following proposals:— "> Bills of Lading.—That the-executive ie instructed to take steps to give efect to the' resolutions passed at last gear's conference: (-1). ;by .further--re-presentations to the New Zealand Gov;rnment;'(2) by submission to t-h'anext Imperial Conference of British' Cliamicrs of Commerce. Commercial " Defence Fund. —That iliis chamber recommends to all" chambers throughout- the Dominion the idoptibn of a commercial defence fund similar to that established by the AVelIngton Central Chamber of Commerce, md the detaiTs of which will be here.vith submitted to tho conforence. Commercial. Trusts Act. —That the following resolution passed by last year's conference be reaffirmed, and its adoption urged upon the Government: "That the Commercial Trusts Act, 1910, should be amended so as to make its. provisions apply to shipping companies." \ Railway Tariff.—That representations bo again made to the Government to order an early revision of the railway tariff, and afford tho executive an opportunity of Reviewing same prior to adoption. Daylight. Saving.—That it Is In the , economic interests of this Dominion that the Definition of Time Bill be placed upon_ the Statute Bonk, iind steps be taken at this conference to convey this opinion to tho Government: Bankruptcy Act.—That the .Government be again urged to amend the Bankruptcy Act by giving effect to t.he recommendations mado at the confer- ' ences of 1009 and 191 G. Voluntary Tribunals of Arbitration. ■ —That tho executive be recommended to give immediato effect to the instructions received at last conference., Country of Origin Marked on Imported Goods.—That legislation' fßriiitroduccd making it compulsory for ail goods imported into tho Dominion to ' have tho country of. 'origin clearly marked on the goods iind packages. In every easo the seller should be bound i to give true information regarding tho country of origin.'
