A dispatch from Berlin stales* that Herr von Jagow (Minister of Foreign Affairs) visited Mr. James W. Gerard (American Ambassador at Berlin) today, and that Mr. Gerard will go to Copenhagen on Tuesday, and sail for America on Thursday. It is Teported at AVasbington that Mr. Gerard will carry suggestions from Germany that the time is ripo for President Wilson to suggest mediation for ending the war. . President Wilson is boing adrised by his friends to do nothing of this oharacter on his own responsibility, because of the possibility of offending the Allies, but to compel Germany to place. her ideas concerning mediation in a formal document for submission to tho Entente.
