YACHTING
THE PORT NICHOLSON CLUB., The annual general meeting; of the amalgamated yacht ■ clubs which now exist under the namo- of tho Port Nicholson Yacht Club, took place oat Wednesday. ,Tho report and balance-sheet disclosed a very satisfactory state of affairs, despito the effect of tho war on membership and subscriptions. After providing for. a clubhouse fund of £50 tho sum of £8 12s. 2d. was carried forward.
Tho election of officers resulted as under: —Commodore, Mr. W. Duncan; vice-commodore, Mr. J. Webb; rearcommodore, Mr. E. Hannan; secretary, Mr. H. Barnos; treasurer, Mr. H. Turner (re-electcd); handicapper for keel) boats, Mr. F. Millman (re-elect-ed) ; handicapper for centreboard boats, Mr. ]?. Cooke; racing secretary, Mr. A. Elton; auditor,. Mr. H.'S. Farmer; general committee, Messrs. G. -F. BothamleV, A. J. Potherick, F. Kiernan, Or. M'Lcan, H. Hardham, and J. Littlebo.v; sailing committee, Messrs. A.. J. Potherick, F. Millman, aud G. F. Bothamlcy; delegates to Yacht and Motor Boat Association, Messrs. W. Duncan and F. Cooke. Captain Johnston ' was elected president, and a largo numbor of gentlemen were put down on the list of vicepresidents, with power for the committee to add ta their number.. Tho sailing committee will meet shortly and map out' revised courses, for the several classes of yachts.
