In order to render the collective financial position mora solid, and to enable England to maintain her gold standard and to enlarge the scope of her credit with the United States, the Bank of France is placing millions sterling at the disposal of the British Treasury, and the 'ireasury is opening a credit in pounds sterling in favour of Franco in. London. The gold will bo returned to tlio coffers of tho Bank of Franco after tho war."
