NEW ZEALAND'S STRENGTH IN THE FIELD

FULL DIVISION OF 20,000.

Dunedin, August 16. The Hon. James Allen states that New Zealand has a full division in the field, numbering over 20,000 men. The} 1 ' occupy the Ypres salient, formerly under the command of General Birdwood, but General Godley, Commandant of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, is now commanding the Anzac Army Corps, including New Zealanders and a portion of Australians. Tho New Zealand division is under the command of General Sir A. H. Russell. General Birdwood has taken over a new command.
