The ladies of Lyall Bay will be in charge of the lted Gross Depot in Woodward- Street to-day; They are provided with ail excellent suppjy of home-made cakes, scones; etc., also sausage-rolls, for which there has been a largo demand. The Women's National Reserve' in Palmer.ston North had a most successful afternoon function last- week, when £63 was raised for the Red Cross Fund. A well-attended concert was hold last evening at the Petone Methodist Church, in a\d of the funds of tlui Wesleyan Young Men's Institute. The Rev. A. M'Rean presided. An orchestra, conducted by Mr. A. Aekroyd, contributed several selections during the evening. Musical items Wso given by: Misses V. Hitchings, J. Knight, S. IMj'i N Frister, and Messrs. Medhurst, M'Keown, and Peak.
