The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house, under date July 28: "Wool sales closed firmly. As compared with June 8, merino, superior. 5 per cent.; medium, inferior, 7j ipcr cent, higher; crossbred, flue, greasy scoured, and coarso slipe, 5 per cent, lower." Messrs. Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London agents:—"The wool sales have closed very firm compared with opening rates, with the exception of fine crossbrods, which arc 10 per, cent, cheaper. following are the average of the pncea of the tleece portions of some of the clip 6 sold on your account:—Ruatca. Alfredton, Is. 4 o-Bd.; Valdor, Mastcrton, Is. 2Sd.; Glendhu, Martinborough, ls. v sd.; W.H.D., Masterton, Is. 5Jd.; Huia, Bulls, Is. 5d.; Moutere, Bulls, Is. 41d." Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, received the following cablegram from their London office, under date of July 23:—"The fifth series of wool sales closed firm. As compared with the closing rates of last sale super and good scoured merinos were 5 per cent, dearer, whilst short and faulty were on a par. Super greasy merinos advanced 5 per cent., and good from ipar to 5 per cent., end faulty were at a par. Lambs were from par to 5 per cent, lower, and coarse and also crossbred lambs were 5 per cent, lower. Fine scoured crossbreds showed a declino of 5 per cent, and medium and coarse 7 per cent, to- 10 ,per cent. Stipes, were from par to 5 per cent, lower; 12,500 bales .were carried'forward, of which 8000 were, not offered." The Bank of New Zealand has received the following cablegram from its London office, under date July 29:—"The wool sales have closed with a firm market, at the decline recorded at tho opening of the series.
