Tho New Zealand .Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having conducted a clearing sale at Taw« Flat on Tuesday on account of Mr. J. Liddle, and also offered . a large entry of etock on account of outside vendors, and have to report a, good sale at highly satisfactory prices. They - obtained the following prices :-August calvers, £7 10s., £8 155., £9 55., to' £11" lis.; September'calvers, £7 ss., v £Blos., to £9 17s. 6d.; heifers, r.w.b., £4 56. to £4 10s.; cows in milk, £8 to £12 55.; heifers in mill;, £7 15s. lo £8; springing cows, to. £10; springing heifers, £8 2s. to £8 55.; empty oows, £5 to £7 10s.; yearling heifers, £2 7s. to £2 los.
Messrs. .Wright, Stephenson, and Co., Ltd., report having held a most successful clearing Bale of dairy cows, on behalf of Messrs. Wilson Bros., East Taratahi, on Tuesday. A total clearance was made -at very satisfactory prices, making a. very satisfactory average of £9 lis. per head. Fat lambs were a moderate lot, and several lots went to graziers. ' Store sheep sold well, especially good breeding ewes, prico being 40s. \ Fat sheep were irregular, but generally firmer. Competition was very keen, and prices advanced considerably. Best bullocks, £18 10s. to £22; extra, £27 10s.; medium, £15 to £17; inferior, £13 10s. to £14; best cows and heifers, £14 10s. to £16 10s.; medium, £11 10s. to £15 10s.; inferior, £9 to £10 10s.
Fat sheep: 2300 penned. Tho quality, on the whole, was good. Freezing buyers were not operating, prices being ft 6hade over their limits. Values were very erratic, and a little easier than last week. Prime wethers, 355. to 385.; extra, 445.; medium, 28s. to 325.; light inferior, 255. to 275.; prime ewes, 30s. to 365.; extra, 445. 6d.;' medium, 255. U> 285.; light inferior, 17s. 6d. to 21s. Fat lambs (600 penned): Competition was keen, and late values were well maintained. )!cst, 245. vo 28s. 9d.; medium, 21s. to 235. 6r1.; inferior, 18s. to 20s. There was a small yardiug of fat pigs and stores. Competition was keen, and prices well up to lato values.
