TRIAL OF RUA
By Telegraph—l'ross Association. Auckland, ,Tuly 2. •The trial of Rua was continued yesterday, when ono of the "prophet's" wives was the principal witness. She stated that she was on the embankment when the first shot was fired. It was fired by a constable on a black horse. Witness' said she identified Constable Skinner as tlio man who allegedly fired a revolver at Rua, when the latter was lying on the ground under arrest. Witness alleged that the police took women down to the Marae at the point of their guns.
