LAND FOR SOLDIERS
• TWO MOKE PURCHASES. The Government lias purohased another block of land in the Auckland district for the purposes of tho settlement of discharged soldiers. The land, which consists of over 600 acres, is situated about eitrht miles from Waerenga, in the Lower Waikato district. The land i 3 described by the Prime Minister as being of excellent quality, it having been used for dairying purposes for many years. It will be cut up into small sections, probably of from sixty, to eightyacres in extent. Another property of between 500 and GOO acres has also been purchased under the discharged soldiers' settlement scheme in the South Canterbury district, near Tiniam This land is also of good quality, suitable for subdivision with sections of about fifty acres each.
