SIR PEMBERTON BILLING AT THE AIR INQUIRY. By Tolep-aph-Fress Assooiatlon-Ooipyrigit (Reo. Juno 24, 5.5 p.m.) London, June 24. Mr. Pemberlon Billing, giving evidence at the Air Inquiry, alleged that naval airmen who assisted an oißcer of the Royal Flying Corps who. had fallen into the sea were reprimanded by their commanding officer. The latter had said that the Royal Flying Corps men had no right to fly over the sea, and added: "If they fall in, let them drown," and orderod one aviator six days' extra duty because he seemed so fond of work.. Mr. Pemberton Billing added. that on the occasion of one Zeppelin raid, many aviators were ordered to go up, 75 per cent, being killed, and many of the' machines being smashed.
