(b) re-enlisted or returned to military ■ duty, or have work to return to, etc., 1162; (c) men who have signed "assistance not required," 702; (d) men placed in employment, 551; (e) men who have not responded to repeated communications, and men who have accepted work the Department found for them, but failed to start work, 'Bli. Total, 2G24. (B)' Cases unuer notion: (a) reports upon cases not yet returned by officers making,inquiries, 347; (b) awaiting further advice (chiefly men who have stated that they are not yet desirous of work), 416; (c) at present on Employment Wanted Register, 372. Total, 1135. '■(C) Cases not ready for action-.—Men recently returned •to New Zealand now convalescing, not ready for employment, and' not yet discharged by the military authorities, 1000. Grand total, 4759. -Thirteen unplaced men in the Wellington District desire employment as follow:—Light labouring, 2; orderly, 1; driver, 2; messenger, 1; storeman, 1; light 'work, 4;' clicker, 1; painter, 1.
