Creek Gold Mining Company, Ltd., states:—The shaft was sunk a further 7 feet to a d--pth of 125 feet. The chamber, longth 20 feet, has been completed, and 35 feet of No. 4 level has been driven, tho lace of the drive being now in 55 feet from tile shaft. The wiuzo has been sunk a further 30 feet, making a total depth of 127 feet. At 119 feet down reef formation gave place to reef, and continued for the remaining 8 feet to tho bottom of tho winze. Sfmilar formation was in evidence 50 feet north of the winze in No. 3 leveL The winze below No, 3 level was sunk from a point iSC feet still further nort.li, and allowing for the pitch of the reef north, there is no doubt that the winze, has entered tile same-formation as was' showing for a few feet in length in No. 3 level. Further sinking of the winze has been stopped. When No. 4 level has been driven the required distance, a rise will bo put up to connect with the winze. A start has been made to extend No. 3 level a further 30 feet south, and when completed ct rise will bo put up to a height of 100 feet, and an intermediate level will he driven at this point. This will provide better ventilation, and also open up moro stopes fol- the supply of ore to the tottery. 1 A satisfactory trial run of tho recentlyerected 5 head of stomps having v been made, tile Jull 15 head were put into commission on May 24. A few minor things still require to be done to completo tho battery. The tonnage of on treated at the mill was 626 tons, producing 5210z. 6dwts. of melted gold, and 380 tans of tailings were cynnided for an extraction of 390z. 2dwts. of bullion.
