FARMERS' ART UNION
FUNDS FOB SOLDIERS'AND SAILORS' CLUB. To secure funds for a. soldiers' club in Palmerston, the farmers of Horowhcnua, Kairanga, Manawatu, and Eangitikei have contributed 2200 sheep to be disposed of by art union. The money will b« used to endow a club on the M'Hardy gift section. For one shilling a ticket may bo obtained which gives' tho purchaser 250 chances of obtaining a prize. Mr. P. IA. M'Hardy is chairman of the art uniou committee ,and the art union will be run on business lines, and in an economical manner. The members of the Railway Telegraph Gallery entertained Cadet T. L. King and. presented him with a wristlet wtftch and a number of Anzac art union tickets, prior to his eoine into camp at Trentham. -\ (
