Earl Grey presided at-a meeting of the Royal .Colonial Institute, which resolved to urge the establishment of an Imperial Hoard, representating Britain and the Dominions, to deal with land settlement after the war. The Institute viewed with satisfaction Sir Rider Haggard's reception. and the liberal offers of land from Australia and South Africa,
