A NEW ZEALAND ENGINEER'S PRIVATE OPINION OP THE STUDEBAKER. The Tourist Motor Co., Eastings, knowing that ive are closely interested in Studebaker motors, have forwarded to us a copy of a lengthy business letter sent them bv Mr. Allan H. M'Lean, the engineer of their firm, who is at present in Detroit, investigating the claims of the 1916 models of the great American automobile manufacturers. The Tourist Motor Co. "have very courteously given us permission to publish extracts from tho letter, and we extract tho following paragraph as likely to interest owners and prospective owners of Studebaker cars "My honest opinion about tho Studebaker car is that it is tho best value for money on tho American market, and as far as finish and workmanship are concerned it is second to lioric. I consider that .we would bo foolish to take up the agency for anv highor priced car that is bmlt here, because if we repaint tho Studebaker and equip it with wire wheels it would be equal to the Minerva in appearance and quietness of running. The engine> is the cleanest designed one that I have inspected." It may bo explained that Mr. M'Lean's mission to America was to secure the agency of a high-priced American car to take tho place of the firm's Silent Knight Minerva agency. There is a good market in Hawke's Bay for tho very best car obtainable, regardless of price. Mr. M'Lean's honest opinion regarding the Studebaker is that there is no American car on the market letter than the Studebaker at any price. The iive-seater touring Studebaker (4-cylinder, 25 h.p.), with electric self-starter and ulectric lights, sells in New Zealand for .£315, the three-seater Studebaker,. with same equipment, boing priced at ,£335. Adams, Ltd., N.Z. Importers of Studebaker Motors, Christchurch, Palmerston North, Wanganui. Agents—Tourist Motor Co., Hastings; Auckland Motor Co., Auckland; Newton King, Stratford and ,No\v- Plymouth; Tombs and Co., Hamilton. AVe are open to receive agents for tho Wellington territory.
