Tho tenth annual meeting and also 'an extraordinary • general • meeting .. of the shareholders in this company - was held at their registered office in High. Street, Dunedin, on Monday. It 'was decided to double the original capital of the company, by the issue, of 25,0C0 ordinary shares of £5 each, and 26,000 preference shares, also:of £5 each. The profit and loss account, .including £25,311 14s 9d. brought forward from last year, ■ showed a credit balanco of £64,367 17s. After • making the • flxea payments on the founders' ojid preference shares, a dividend of 7 per cent, was ■ declared on the ordinary shares, which is .the same Tate as has been paid for some years • past. To enable existing ordinary shareholders. to participate in the new.lssue of shares -without trenching on their other, resources, it was decided to pay, a special dividend by way of bonus on the ordinary shares out of undivided profits and reserve amounting to 40s. per share.
