ACCOUNTANT STUDENTS' SOCIETY

At a meeting of the members of the Wellington Accountant Students' Society last evening, au interesting and instructive lecture on "Tho Transfer of Personal Property" was delivered by Mr. David S. Sniith, L.L.M. The lecturer dealt with the subject under three headings, viz., transfer of personal property by gift, by said,-and by iway of security, outlining the legal aspect as settled by statute aud leading cases. Tho principal provisions of the Chattels Transfer Act, were dealt with in a comprehensive, manner. At the conclusion of the lccture various questions wero asked by the members,, and ably replied to by the lecturer. Upon the motion of Mr. J. L. Atcus, sconded by Mr. F. IT. Bass, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr. Smith for his lecture.

Tho chairman (Mr. Ernest W. TTuniy announced that at the next meeting of the'society'. Mr. John S. Barton will deliver a lecture on "Exchange Problems."
