"Wilkinson, ilO Is. Bd., costs .£1 10s. Gd. JUDGMENT SUMMONSES. | In a judgment summons cae9, Joe Wi Neera was ordered to pay A. D. Cole and Sons dfill 15s. 3d. by Juno 6, in. default to bo imprisoned for ten days. Frank Edward Meyrick was ordered to pay Milligan and Bond ,£ll Bs. by June fi, in default to undergo ten. days in gaol. A RESERVED JUDGMENT? Restored judgment was delivered in the case in -which Sibuu, Ltd.,- grocers, of Petone, claimed from George J. Cochrane, draper, of Petone, the sum of .£53, alleged to be duo ill respect of damage done to plaintiff's tricar through a collision, with defendant's motor-car an February 15, at. the intersection of White's Lino and Cuba Street, Petone. The Magistrate, who had inspected tho locality, came to the conclusion that defendant had failed to ohservo the rule of .'the road when turning into a side street. Judgment was' given for plaintiff for .£23 12s. 4<1., with costs £7 2s. At the hearing Mr. T. W. Hislop appeared for the plaintiffs, while Mr! A. 51. Salek appeared for the defendant. DEFENDED ACTIONS. la the defended action E. E. Campion (Mr. 0. C. Mazeugarb) v. Thos. Gutnrie (Mr. P. H. Putnam), a claim for .£2 25.alleged to bo due for articles removed and brokon, judgment was given for the plaintiff for 10s. Gd., with costs Gs. Judgment was reserved on a nonsuit point raised by defendant in tho case of Hamilton (Mr. H. Hill) v. Watt (Mr. T. Youug), acclaim for £50. Judgment was also reserved in the caso of Christenson (Mr. IV W.' Jackson) v. Goodwill (Mr. F. E. Petherick), a claim for m ' POLICE CASES. Police cases were taken before Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M. Emily Thomas, for whom. ilr. J, J, M'Gnit'h appeared, was fined JUO, with costs-75., lor keeping a house of ill-fame in Cambridge Terrace in contravention of tho City By-Laws. Security tor leave to appeal was fixed a't eight guineas, together with payment of fine and costs. Tho samo defendant waa iiued «£3, and ordered to pay 4s. witness's expenses for being tho owner of a dangerous dog.
Hearing was concluded of tho case in which Joseph Brennan Warcham anil Lacy Vston Bruce Wallace were charged with assaulting a Chinese 'fruiterer named Yat Wall. Each accused was convicted "and fined .£5, with costs and expenses totalling cB2 Bs. 9d. On the application of Mr. J. J". M'Urath Ihe lino in one case was increased to J!5 Is. to admit of an appeal. Frederick Augustus Armitago was remanded until to-day on a charge of stealing a watch valued at 15s. • Arthur Short, who was convicted on two charges of drunkenness, and on another charge of using obscene language, was fined sums totalling «£2 10s. The alternative was 14 days' imprisonment. Convictions- for drunkenness were also recorded against Patrick John Coyle, fined <£3, with the option of a month's imprisonment; Peter Chalmers, fined 10s„ with the option of going to gaol for 48 hours; and a first offender,''woo was discharged without penalty. '
