series, superior Bcourod merinos , ore 6 per cent, good scoured merinos 71 per cent., and inferior 6coured merinos 10 per cent, dearer. Good greasy- merinos ! are 10 per cent., whilst merino top makers aro 16 to 20 per cent, dearer. Fine greasy crossbreds are 5 per cent., medium to 7i per cent., coarse greasy crossbreds 71 per cent., and shabby, greasy crossbreds 7j to 10 per cent, dearer. 32,000 bales were purchased for 'the Home trade, and ROO for the Continent. Nothing was purchased for America; 7000 bales have been carried forward, of which 6OCO bales were not offered. Tho Now Zealand Loan end .Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have received tho following cablegram from London, dated May s:—"Xjondon wool sales closed firm. As compared with MarcU 17. merino superior and lambs 5 per cent., medium inferior 15 por cont., and crossbred 5 per cent, to 7* per cont. higher. Greasy lambs unchanged." Messrs. Murray, Roberts and Company, Ltd., have received the following cablegram from) London, dated May s:—"Sales jelosed firm. Seven thousand bales hold over."
