Meagher, Lord Mayor . of Sydney, predicted that under the 'neiv franeliiso Labour candidates would contest every City ward. Referring to the British Medical Association's attitude towards the treatment of school children," Mr. A. H. Griffith (Minister of Education) said that last year tho parents of £7,000 children had been notified of defects, but 40,000 cases- were never- treated. .The Conference endorsed the Minister's attitude. ~ . Tho executive of the Labour Federation has passed a resolution that the present system of obtaining money for patriotic funds is economically unsound, anu asking the Government to introduce taxation bearing upon all classes equit•ably.
