BIBLE SCHOOLS AND MISSIONS.
The Bible School session of tho Church of Christ Conference was opened on Saturday morning, Bro. 'P. B. Knapp, the president of the Bible School Union, presiding. A useful talk was given on tho qualifications of a successful teacher. Tho teacher, said the president, must be consecrated to Christ and His Church—one who is to he found regularly at the meetings for worship and prayer, one who is well informed on Bible truth, and also well informed on the naturo and characteristics of the pupil.
The report of tho committee and balancc-slicets were adopted. The following wore elected for the coming year:—President, Bro. F. 13. Knapp; vicc-president, F.' J. Phillips; secretary; Bro. P. Boddington; treasurer, Bro. H. Ames;-committee, Bro. W. Bell, Bro. Dixon, Bro. Inglis. The Foreign Mission Session was presided over hy Bro. R. Hall. The report presented to conference showed forward work in South Africa, under the charge of Bro. F. L. Hadfield and Bro. T. Anderson and their respective wives. The work at Bulnwayo and. Intini and two native stations was very satisfactory. Belingwe, the place where Bro. .Win. Mansill, of Wellington, gave his life, is now a successful cut-station under the charge of Bro. John Tokwe.
•_ During the year £875 had been raised in Now Zealand for this field, and the Churches have ovcrv reason to he gratified with the success of the.mission.
The following were elected as tho committee for the coining year:—President, Bro. R. Hall; vice-president. Bro. H. Coomba; treasurer, Bro. H. Owen; secretary, Bro. H. Grinstcad; committee, Bro. D. Campbell, Bro. Sinclair,. Sister (Mrs.) Pratt, Sister (Miss) Mansill.
A Bible School rally was held on(Saturday afternoon, Mr. F. B. Knapp presiding, when addresses were delivered on "Tho Bible School as an Evangelising Agency,"-by Mrs. Callam. and "Tho Bible School as a Jleaus of Training Church Members," by Mr. ■ Wm. Phillips, of South Wellington. Special services were held in the churches yesterday, collections being taken up for the Y.M.C.A. work at Featherston Camr».
