BUSINESSES TO BE WOUND UP. The following notice, under tho War Regulations, was published in a Gazette Extraordinary on Thursday night:— Whereas the Attorney-General for the Dominion of Now Zealand is satisfied that tho companies, firms, and persons mentioned! in the First. Schedule hereto are carrying on business to a substantial extent for the benefit of alien enemies resident out of New Zealand: ~ And whereas he is satisfied that the persons named in the - Second Schedule hereto are alien enemies resident out of New Zealand and carrying on business in that Dominion: Now, therefore, I, Alexander Lawrence Hordman, His Majesty's At-torney-General for the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance of Clause 20 of the War Regulations of April 3, 1916, under the War Regulations Act, 1914, declare each of the companies, firms, and persons mentioned in the schedules hereto to be an enemy. Dated this 20th day of April, 1916. FIRST SCHEDULE. G. Hardt and Co., merchants, Australia and New Zealand. Hardt and Co., merchants, Manchester, England. In tho same Gazette the AttorneyGeneral does "authorise and permit all transactions which may bo iscessary for tho winding-up of the business of the said companies, firms, and persons, or for the performance of existing contracts;. provided that such transatcionß tako placo with the knowledge and consent of the Custodian of Enemy Property or of somo person appointed by him in that behalf."
