FURTHER DETAILS OF THE TRAGEDY.
; By TelecraDli.-Piw Association. Auckland, April 21. Further details of the death of the Rev. William Slade show that deceased's wife beard a shot, and going into the bedroom found her husband lyincr on the floor with a revolver near. There was a bullet in his head. Death occurred on the way to the Hospital. The deceased entered tliri Methodist Church in 1881, and was stationed at Raglan, Tauranga, and, Port Chalmers; later he entered Foreign Mission work, in which he. laboured for seventeen years. In 1903 the Rev. Mr. Slado returned to the Dominion, !>nd was pdnointed toOnehunga, and later to the Central Mission in Dunedin. In 1907 he became President of the Conference, and in 1914 visited England in order to raise funds to liauidato the debt on the Octagon Hall. Dunedin, but owing to the war his efforts were unsuccessful, and since his Teturn he hud heen very depressed, suffering from ill-health. At the beginning of the present year he came to Auckland.
