BOYS INSTITUTE

| OLD BOYS' ASSOCIATION. On Friday s erening Inst a sooinl was held at the"" Institute Buildings, Tasluan Street, to celebrate the opening of the Old Boys' Association, and to do honour to the Cricket Club for winning the Junior Championship this season. The club room set aside for the exclusive use of the old boys was officially opened by the president, Mr. G. A. Troup, who hoped that the members would - look upon the club room as n second home, whore they could enjoy the companionship of their chums, write letters, have a quiet read, or participate in the games provided. Tlio following programme was then carried out: The toasts honoured were:. "The Old Boys' Association," proposed by C. S. Moore,' response J. D. Eowitt; "The Cricket Club,", proposed by L. T. Watkins, response E. Guise, captain; "Our Opponents," proposed by D. Douglas, response G. E. Brown'.. .Recitations were given by Miss Gubbins and Miss Pearson, a song by Mr. V. Bennett, flute \ solo by Mr; V. Brown, and items'by the Institute orchestra. ,
