THORNDON METHODIST CHURCH
The Thorndon Methodist Church trustees. Molesworth Street, in thoir annual report, state that during tho year the services of the Church nave been marked by good .attendances, while tho Sunday School and Church anniversaries and the harvest fostival have each been a record since union. Tho trustees place on record their hearty appreciation of the faithful services rendered by tho superintendent, minister, and pastor (tho Rev. G. S. Cook), and tho Rev. C.. E Stauilage, the Rev. J. Dumbell, and the local preachevs who ministered from Sabbath to Sabbath. They deeply regret having to say. farewell to the Rev. Mr. Cook and Mrs. Cook. For tho past four years Mr. Cook had always given tho church of his best, and had been a true and faithful preacher and pastor, a wise counsellor, organiser, and administrator, and a very real friend. Mr. Cook has been succeeded by the Rev. Amos j Reader. At tho Communion services held on April 2, there was the largest attendance on record. The present number of members on the Church roll is: Senior, 141 • junior, 28. This is the largest n.mnber in the history of the Church, there being 131 at the time of union. During the year.several of the senior members were called to their reward, viz.: Brothers Sampson, Nicholas, and Chisholm; and Sisters Chisliolm and R. J. Then Mr. Colin Moxham, one of the best products of the Sunday School in days gone by, laid down his life for his King and country. To the bereaved the trustees extend their deepest sympathy, and commend them to th© God of all peace and consolation. The report makes reference to the good work done by the choir and the Ladies' Guild, and the Sunday School staff. ,
