BURLESQUE FOOTBALL
GIRLS. V. HOBBLED SOLDIERS.
Offing to the very wet weather on Saturday last it was found to be quite impossible for the New Zealand Natives' Association's patriotic gala to be , held at the Athletic Park as arranged. It has beon decided that the postponed » fixture will take placo at the Park on Saturday afternoon noxt (Easter Sat- • urday), and as the object has in view the supply of comforts to our sick and wounded soldiers and convalescents in ' New Zealand, there should be a large 1 attendance of tho public. The chief • attraction has the virtu© of novelty. 5 A team of young ladies has been select- " ed and trained to play a Rugby football ' match against a team of Trcntham ' "boys in khaki," who are, for the purposes of this "match, to be attired in nobble skirts. If anyone is able >to . 'conjure up the , picture of a burly ; trooper trying to drop-kick a goal in T a hobble skirt, they will be able to realise the fun and frolic that will take | placo at the Athletic, Park on Satur- . "Hiy. • '
