NATIONAL REGISTER LISTS.
A SUGGESTION. Sir,I—As1 —As there seems a possibility of a Compulsion Bill being introduced shortly, and the number of men eligible for 'service based on tho return shown by the National Register, may I suggest that copies of the Register be placed in each district, where they niay be open to tho public for inspection. I mean simply that the name and address of sjvery man who lias complied with the law by filling in a form, should be available fpr inspection in each district in the same manner as the electoral roll is available, but not the slightest information as to his views I on the subject. I think this is only fair to the men who have complied with' the law,' and it will also protect men »who-'are at present under suspicion of not having filled in a cayd, and furthermore, it will enable the public to assist the authorities in tracing men who havo wilfully shirked their responsibilities in the matter.—l am, etc., r 1 A VOLUNTEER.
