WAR RELIEF FUNDS
A CONTRIBUTION OP £1000,
The generosity of the public to war funds lias, perhaps, been somewhat suspended in the past ,by a feeling of uncertainty as to how best to place donations among the multiplicity of societies and associations; and also, perhaps, by a fear that among so many agencies of distribution a too large percentage may go in expenses of management.. Happily these uncertainties are passing away.' Now that the War Relief Association of Wellington is, thoroughly organised under capable Lands, and working steadily and usefully, the growing confidence of tho public is by tlie numerous substantial donations, including •one for £1000 from Levin and Co., Ltd. It is hoped and believed that, as the careful and reliable work of the War Relief Association of Wellington becomes bettor known, and as the ,public confidence in tho economy of its administration increases, those able and willing to give for tho relief of our soldiers and their dependents will now know where to placo their gi,fts, with tho feeling that the money will lie applied to their proper objects with good judgment and without waste.
