"TVITH THE ALLIES IN FRANCE I AND FLANDERS." | An 1 interesting visitor to Wellington is Mr. Frederic Coleman, . F.R.G.S., who is announced to give a series of lectures, commencing :at the ' Town Hall Concert Chamber next /Saturday evening, on what lrns been described as' "The Great Mysterious Western Front," .on Which we. place all our hopes and fears, for here, according to Lord Kitchener's pronouncement, "the war will, bo won or lost." Mr. Coleman's lectures will be devoted to his personal experiences, as a member of the Koyal Automobile Club Corps, - attached to the British Headquarters Stall, and he has many stirring'stories to tell of his. adventures "by flood and field," in trench and firing-line. Referring-, to Mr: Coleman's Melbourne season, a leading paper wrote:—"Mr. Coleman on Saturday proved himself an ideal lecturer. He spoke- without notes of any kind, and . evidently' had prepared hp sentences beforehand.-. He had a song'to sing,-and he sang it with his whole : heart and soul and voice. In a pleasant and conversational manner, he cnatted to his hearers of the dreadful things he had seen, and of the curious experiences he had noted, His lecture was lit with flashes of humour, 'which : came as pleasant relief, to the things which Mr. Coleman narrated With simple feeling, and'admiration for those who took part in them. He is a brilliant writer and speaker, a most dramatic and convincing raconteur, and the optical lantern views with -which his' lecture is illustrated are from his awn photographs taken during war. The.box plans will be opened at the. Bristol this morniwr.
