ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES

SUDDEN DEATH. A man named Henry M'Laughlin, enw ployed as a boilermaker's labourer by, Messrs. W. Cable and Co.,- of the Lion. Foundry, Kaiwarra, dropped dead while working for that firm on board tho steamer Arawa at twenty minutes past) nine o'clock yesterday morning. Death is believed to have been'due to heart disease. Deceased, who was a widower, and about forty years of age, resided with his parents in' Rugby Street. An inquest will be held at 4 o'clock th;s afternoon. INQUEST AT THE HOSPITAL. Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S:M., held ati inquest at the 'Wellington Hospital yesterday for the purpose of ascertaining the cause of the death of Albert Logan, 21 years of age, who was admitted to' the institution on Saturday, and died at an early hour on Tuesday morning. The child resided with his parents at' 43 Mein Street, and on Thursday last, when playing on the fence, be fell soma 13 feet to the pavement below. He ra< ceived medical attention and made satis< factory progress at first, but this progress was not maintained, and on Sat™ urday he was sent io the Hospital. His symptoms were consistent' with fracture of the skull and subsequently ha succumbed to double pneumonia, which, the medical evidence showed, had developed in consequence of lowered vitality, the result of his injuries. A! verdict was returned in accordance with the medical' testimony. Senior-Ser-geant Emerson represented the police at tho inquest. KNOCKED DOWN BY 'A MOTORCYCLE. Robert Anderson, a news vendor, was admitted to the Hospital at 5 p.m. yesterday, suffering from injuries tq the, head and the right leg, sustained through being knocked down by a motor-cycle in Kent- Terrace. CYCLING FATALITY. Br Telegraph—Press Association. ' Marton, March 29. A young man named Wilton, wliila cycling, collided with a motor-car near Hunterville on Sunday morning. Thd car passed over Wilton, who died to* day.
